Completed a Fredrick County Maryland trout fishing hat trick this morning.  We hopped from stream to stream and I managed to catch a brookie, a brown and 3 rainbow. Best January fishing I've ever experienced. Thanks to my friend for yielding first crack at all of the best pools.

I decided to take up fly fishing since river smallie fishing was on hold most of last year due to all of the high muddy water. I made progress, but some tough days on mountain streams chasing wild trout taught me how much I have year to learn. This is my favorite trout picture from last year. Trout fishing is really growing on me, especially in small mountain streams.
